ANALYSIS OF A RURAL LANDSCAPE

A rural landscape is the type of landscape that conbines biotic, abiotic and anthropic landscapes. The image shows a central landscape, possibly located at Tierra de Campos, Castilla y Leon's plateau because it is plane and because it's mainly an agricultural land without trees.

The picture shows a relief characterized by plateaus, there aren't mountains or any kind of coastal relief as beaches, cliffs, gulfs... There is lack of vegetation in this area, apart from the crops. Moreover, there aren't any rivers, lake or deltas near it, so we can see that they are dry farming crops. According to all these, the climate of this location could be described as hot in summer and cold in winter, which is the climate of this inner mediterranean places.

With regard to the land uses and activities we can say that it is a farming and a residential area, as we can see in the houses of the village and all the crops that go arround them. The predominant use of the land is mainly arable land, we can see a central plan with roads that go from the center to the exterior of the village. The crops are organiced in rectangular regular spaces. In addition we can see that it is an open field land, dedicated to dry farming crops as cereals. The houses are built with adobe bricks, and they are organized around a central room.

Talking about the problems of the rural areas we can standout the lack of services (health care, schools, communications...) Among the measures that can be applied to deal with this lack of services we can mention the instalation of theatres, cinemas, public transport or schools.
